Operates 364 days a year serving free lunch, and dinner.
Mobile Food Truck – leaves 19 Nicol Street at 3pm on Friday nights and gives out dinner and comfort packs around Nanaimo

Each year 20 children ranging in age from 7 – 12 years of age are sent to the Salvation Army Camp Sunrise located on the Sunshine Coast. Registration includes camp fee, transportation and canteen.

Christmas Dinner for Shut-ins Program – Community Ministries Office, 19 Nicol Street, Nanaimo
On Christmas Eve volunteers from the Community deliver a Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings, to Senior’s who are shut-in or who would otherwise be alone for Christmas. They take along gifts from The Salvation Army, and usually bring a gift themselves as well. Senior’s have told us over and over again, how much this has meant to them, and how it has brought joy into what would otherwise have been a bleak Christmas.

In partnership with Loaves and Fishes Food Bank, The Salvation Army Community church hosts a Food Depot every Friday from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Prior to 2003, The Salvation Army had an annual Christmas Food Hamper Program. Now, The Salvation Army in partnership with Loaves and Fishes operates Hamperville from November to December 24th. Dedicated volunteers and generous community support enable Hamperville to provide approximately 2,000 Christmas food hampers to those with limited incomes.
Free Income Tax Returns – Community Services Office, 19 Nicol Street, Nanaimo
During ‘Tax Season’ tax returns are completed three days a week, and by special appointment during the rest of the year.

Pet Food Program
Access to free dog and cat food. Pet food is donated by generous local donors, including the Nanaimo SPCA and Bosleys.
